The fire performance of POROTON masonry has been the subject of extensive research and experimental testing over time, and remains one of the product’s most interesting and unique aspects. This article offers an updated review of current fire prevention regulations, including those arising from the development of the Fire Prevention Code (Ministerial Decree of August 3, 2015, as amended) and the new Technical Regulations that are gradually integrating it. It focuses on fundamental passive fire protection strategies, including reaction to fire and fire resistance, highlighting the unique characteristics of POROTON solutions in these areas.
